Lincoln Science Park Approves Phase Two Expansion

The Lincoln Science & Innovation Park has been given the green light for a major second phase, with planning permission approved this week for a 60,000 sq ft building dedicated to laboratory, workshop, and office space.

The £18 million development, a joint venture between the University of Lincoln and the Co-operative Group, will create capacity for an estimated 40 additional companies and around 500 jobs once fully occupied.

"Phase One filled far faster than we projected — we have had a waiting list for lab space for over a year," said park director Helen Ashby. "Phase Two lets us keep ambitious Lincolnshire science and engineering businesses here in the county rather than watching them move to Cambridge or Leeds for space."

The new building will include specialist wet labs, clean rooms, and high-bay workshop units suited to advanced manufacturing and agri-tech firms — sectors where Lincolnshire has growing strength.

Construction is expected to begin in the autumn, with the first tenants moving in during late 2027. The park has confirmed that three existing Phase One companies have already pre-committed to taking larger units in the new building.
