Lincoln Tech Hub Secures £2.5M in Regional Funding

A major new technology hub in the heart of Lincoln has secured £2.5 million in funding from the East Midlands Combined Authority, marking one of the largest investments in the county's digital economy to date.

The Lincoln Digital Exchange, located in a converted Victorian warehouse on Sincil Street, will provide co-working space, meeting rooms, and dedicated offices for up to 150 technology professionals when it opens later this year.

What the funding covers

The funding package includes £1.8 million from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and £700,000 from private investors, including several successful Lincolnshire tech entrepreneurs who have committed to mentoring tenants.

• 100-seat event space for meetups and conferences
• Prototyping lab with 3D printing facilities

Lincoln has seen a 40% increase in tech company registrations over the past three years, according to data from Companies House.

Construction work is expected to begin in April, with a phased opening planned for September.
