Lincolnshire AgriTech Startup Raises £4M Series A

Spalding-based CropSense has closed a £4 million Series A funding round led by Midlands Engine Investment Fund.

The startup's platform uses drone-mounted multispectral cameras and machine learning to detect crop disease, nutrient deficiency, and pest damage up to two weeks earlier than traditional scouting methods.

The opportunity

Founded in 2023 by former University of Lincoln agricultural engineering researcher Dr Priya Sharma, CropSense has already signed contracts with 45 farms across Lincolnshire and East Anglia, covering over 30,000 hectares.

The new funding will be used to hire 15 additional engineers, expand to Scotland and the South West, and develop a satellite-based monitoring module.
