The Collection Wins National Award for Bronze Age Exhibition
The Collection, Lincoln's museum of art and archaeology, has won a national award for an exhibition that drew record visitor numbers to the city over the winter.
The show, which reunited Bronze Age finds from across Lincolnshire for the first time, was recognised in the Temporary or Touring Exhibition category at the national Museums & Heritage Awards, beating institutions from London and Edinburgh.
"To be recognised nationally for telling a Lincolnshire story, with Lincolnshire objects, means a great deal," said the museum's lead curator. "It shows world-class culture doesn't only happen in the big cities." A follow-up exhibition is confirmed for next spring.
