Sarah Thornton Named Lincolnshire Business Leader of the Year

Sarah Thornton, founder and CEO of Lincoln-based renewable energy consultancy GreenGrid, has been named Lincolnshire Business Leader of the Year at the East Midlands Business Awards.

Thornton founded GreenGrid in 2019 from a spare bedroom in Nettleham. The company now employs 45 people and has helped over 200 Lincolnshire businesses transition to renewable energy sources.

GreenGrid turned over £4.2 million in 2025 and is on track to double that figure in 2026.
