Lincoln County Hospital A&E Expansion Gets Green Light

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has received final approval for a £28 million expansion of the emergency department at Lincoln County Hospital.

The two-storey extension will double the number of treatment bays from 24 to 48, add a dedicated paediatric area, and include a mental health assessment suite.

Timeline

Construction will begin in July 2026 with completion expected by late 2027. A temporary modular unit will maintain capacity during the build phase.

The expansion is funded through the government's New Hospital Programme and will create an estimated 120 new clinical positions.
