There's little more exciting than finding something that shouldn't really be there, and The Gate coffee shop definitely falls into that category.
Hiding in the left most walkway of Exchequergate archway through to Minster Yard you'll find an unassuming sign hinting at what lies within. A step seemingly into the wall of the arch itself and through a sturdy, red wooden door and you're welcomed into what must be the most unexpected if not the smallest coffee shop in Lincoln.
No inch of space has been wasted however as alongside the hot and cold drinks and tempting cake display is a small display of arts and craft items that would make perfect gifts or home accessories.
On display currently are a range of ceramics from @ceramicsintheannexe a Lincolnshire based pottery studio. If there's one thing we love more at LoveLincoln than an independent business, it's an independent business supporting other local independents!
Owned and operated by Lauren, who proudly declares that the entire business is a one woman show, from serving and cleaning to paperwork and marketing. The Gate is a perfect example of how even the smallest of spaces can make a big impact when viewed through the eyes of an entrepreneur.
