For press
Working with LoveLincoln
This page is for PR agencies, in-house comms teams and anyone whose job involves getting a client’s story in front of Greater Lincoln. It sets out what we publish, what we don’t, how to reach us, when our newsletter cut-offs fall, and what happens after you press send. No login, no gatekeeping — if you need something that isn’t here, ask.
Who to contact
Press releases, announcements and story ideas: editor@lovelincoln.co.uk. Everything sent there is read and reviewed editorially.
Anything else — general enquiries, partnerships, a question about this page: hello@lovelincoln.co.uk.
Corrections and takedown requests have their own route — see corrections and takedowns.
How to pitch, and what happens next
Send it by email, or use share it with LoveLincoln if you’d rather attach photos and documents through a form. Either way it reaches the same place. A short covering line explaining why it matters to Lincoln is worth more than a long release.
If you haven’t heard back within 3 days, it hasn’t been selected.
Until 31 December 2026, though, we’ll go further than that: we’ll reply to every submission we’re not publishing and tell you why. We think being open about our reasoning is fairer than silence, and it should make the next pitch a better one. The only exception is where we’d be repeating the same feedback to the same person — we’ll say so rather than waste your time and ours.
What we publish, and what we don’t
LoveLincoln is a positive community platform for Greater Lincoln. We are not a news site, and we don’t try to be one. We publish the things that make people glad they live here: openings, launches, appointments worth knowing about, places worth visiting, people worth meeting, and the small good news that other outlets don’t have room for.
What we won’t run, whoever it comes from:
- Anything negative, or framed against a competitor
- Crime, courts, and party politics or campaigning
- Complaints, disputes, and “X hits back at Y”
- National releases with a Lincoln postcode stapled on
- Unsubstantiated superlatives — “leading”, “best”, “award-winning” with no award named
We rewrite rather than run releases verbatim, in our own voice. If a quote or a fact matters to you, flag it — we’ll keep it.
What you can pitch us for
We publish in formats that mostly don’t exist anywhere else, and each one wants something different from you. Pitching the right one is the single biggest thing you can do to improve your odds.
In development
Game Changers
A written Q&A interview with people who are genuinely influential in their field — the kind of key-person coverage that’s hard to come by locally. Subjects are chosen editorially. It isn’t available to buy, and it won’t be.
Nominations are welcome and we read all of them, but a nomination isn’t a route in. If you think someone belongs in it, tell us why at editor@lovelincoln.co.uk.
Editorial and paid, kept apart
Editorial coverage is not for sale. You can’t buy a story, a placement, or a better position, and spending money with us has no bearing on what we publish.
We do sell advertising, newsletter sponsorship and event promotion, and paid placements are visually distinct from editorial. If that’s the conversation you want, it lives at advertise.
Images, video and rights
Good photography is usually the difference between a story we can run and one we can’t. Sizes, formats, what we can and can’t accept, and what you’re granting us when you send an image, are all on the specifications page.
Embargoes
We’re happy to work with embargoes and we’ll respect them. Mark the date and time clearly at the top of what you send.
If for any reason we can’t hold to one — if we already have the story, for instance, and are running it as an exclusive — we’ll tell you rather than break it quietly.
Corrections and takedowns
If we’ve got something wrong, we want to know and we’ll fix it. If a client’s circumstances have changed, there’s usually a better answer than deleting the piece. Our full policy — what we correct, what we update, what we amend, and the rare cases where we unpublish — is set out on the corrections page.
Press Pack
Need audience figures, our logo, or background for a client proposal? Email editor@lovelincoln.co.uk and ask for the Press Pack and we’ll send it over.
